During the soft launch period, I made a couple of observations which have prompted me to make a couple of changes to shipping rates.
1. All orders will now be sent as Registered Mail, which provides some tracking.
For Singapore addresses, this will be a flat rate of S$2.50 whatever your total order amount.
This change is due to some inconsistencies observed with SingPost’s delivery time (and reliability!). Something I sent locally by Registered Mail arrived the next day. However, several packages I sent on the same day via Normal Mail still have not been received after one week. While there is nothing I can do about that, I feel more at ease sending your orders via Registered Mail, which allows at least some tracking and accountability on SingPost’s end.
[EDIT TO ADD: I know some of the local girls will not like this change, being accustomed to many e-shops absorbing postage, but this change is for your benefit rather than mine. I don't like standing in queue at the post office to send out Registered Articles when I can just drop Normal Mail in the postbox. While your orders are, strictly speaking, no longer my responsibility once I mail them out, I still feel terrible if they do not get to you. It is a shame that I cannot fully trust the local postal service, given that we are a highly developed city, but I cannot deny that they have not been entirely reliable. I apologise if you do not like this change, but I intend to retain it for the time being and observe how things go first.]
2. I have adjusted the tier rates for international shipping. The upper limit for each tier has been raised, which means you can purchase more for the same amount paid for shipping. The rates are now as follows:
Asia (by Air Mail; with tracking):
Orders up to S$40.00 – flat rate of S$8.00
Orders up to S$80.00 – flat rate of S$12.00
Orders above S$80.00 – flat rate of S$15.00
Rest of the World (by Air Mail; with tracking):
Orders up to S$40.00 – flat rate of S$10.00
Orders up to S$80.00 – flat rate of S$16.00
Orders above S$80.00 – flat rate of S$21.00
International Addresses – (by Surface Mail; with tracking; takes up to 8 weeks):
Recommended for orders that include ManGlaze lacquer, which will be shipped by Surface Mail even if you select the Air Mail option.
Orders up to S$40.00 – flat rate of S$6.00
Orders up to S$80.00 – flat rate of S$10.00
Orders above S$80.00 – flat rate of S$13.00
